INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL LEVELS:

  • Cut up the lyrics into strips

  • Listen to the song at a speed to suit you and put the lines of the song into the correct order.

  • Repeat this process until you have used all the strips

  • Check your answers with the full lyrics answer key

MAKE THIS EXERCISE MORE CHALLENGING by listening to the song without looking at the words, then try to put the lyrics in order.    Repeat the process until the whole song has been completed.  Finally, play the song to check whether you are right.

PRONUNCIATION NOTE:  The following often occurs in normal speech as a lazy pronunciation habit, or can be found in songs and poems in order to fit the stress patterns.  

  • gonna = going to

  • wanna = want to

RECOMMENDATION:  Do not copy poor pronunciation;
